- COMUNITÀ DI SANT'EGIDIO ACAP NAPOLI ONLUS
- The overall goal of the project is to improve the health status of the elderly person taking polypharmacotherapy through the implementation of an integrated system of technology and care services that supports the correct intake of prescribed medications. Although polypharmacotherapy is necessary to manage multimorbidity, i.e., the coexistence of two or more chronic disease conditions in the elderly person, it is unfortunately associated with several adverse health outcomes, such as drug reactions, falls, hospitalizations, and cognitive decline, and is therefore often associated with a state of frailty. Specifically, we aim to identify a valuable support to the elderly person for taking therapy through a device (FIDRAY drug dispenser) of oral therapy management, designed and thought for the target audience, through sound and voice indications. This support is implemented through an active monitoring service for elderly residents in their own homes. The dispenser is directly connected to a monitoring app for use by the same person or caregiver and management software, under the control of the doctor in charge.
