Biosketch: Erica Ordali has PhD in Cognitive, Computational, and Social Neurosciences with a specialization in Behavioral and Experimental Economics. She is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Florence, where she actively works in the Spoke 1 of the Research Program Age-It (Ageing Well in an Ageing Society) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Inside Spoke 1 – WP4, which centers on bio-demographics and social aspects of aging, Erica is researching how different determinants of risk-taking change during healthy and pathological aging, particularly focusing on cognitive, psychological, and economic elements. Regarding pathological aging, her focus is mainly on Parkinson’s disease since this infirmity is strictly related to a dysfunction in the evaluation of risks and impulsive behaviors. Aside from her work in the Age-It project, Erica’s research interests comprise various forms of impulsive and decontrolled behavior (e.g., aggressivity) as well as how hostile behaviors arise in situations of cooperation and punishment, further investigating the genetic and cognitive determinants of these two elements. Erica is also a skilled EEG operator and often uses this technique to investigate her research questions.
She has a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Padua and holds a background in neuropsychological evaluations and forensic psychology.
