Biosketch: Guglielmo Bonaccorsi is Professor of Public Health at the University of Florence, where he teaches themes linked to General and Applied Hygiene: in particular, epidemiology, health services management, health promotion and prevention, food hygiene and nutrition, vaccinations and all the matters linked to Health Literacy. He is currently the Director of the School of Specialization in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine, which counts more than 60 Residents. Within the national socientific societies, he is member of the Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health, member of the Italian Society of Medical Pedagogy (where in the past he was national vice-president) and, within international scientific societies, member of the European Public Health Association (where he is one of the component of the Steering Committee of the Health Literacy Section), of the International Health Literacy Academy, of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education . Recently he has been listed as the world's most productive and cited author on vaccine literacy (HUMAN VACCINES & IMMUNOTHERAPEUTICS 2024, VOL. 20, NO. 1, 2363019 https://doi.org/10.1080/21645515.2024.2363019). Member of editorial boards of journals in the field of preventive medicine and public health, his main scientific interests and field of research have been directed in the last years towards health literacy, both on individual as well as organizational and community level. recently he has begun a collaboration with the Council of Europe in the field of Health Literacy and Human Rights. Award for Social Demography from the European Association for Population Studies. In 2023, he received the European Demographer Award from Population Europe and the network of Europe’s foremost demographic research institutes.
