Biosketch: Maria Letizia Tanturri, is Associate Professor of Demography at the University of Padova (Italy), where she teaches demographic courses at postgraduate students.
Her research interests fall broadly on childlessness and low fertility and its consequences for population ageing. She is also interested in studying the time use across the life course and its implications for work-life balance, for active ageing and wellbeing, for gender equality.
She has been involved in several European projects, among which Families and Societies (Changing families and sustainable societies: Policy contexts and diversity over the life course and across generations) and CREW (Care, retirement and wellbeing of older people across different welfare regimes). She has been the PI of project funded by the Cariparo Foundation “CHILDZERO: Factors behind the childless boom in Italy”.She is currently the local coordinator of the PRIN 2022 project FER-MO (Italians’ FERtility MOtivations in disorienting and uncertain time).
She is responsible of the 2.1 task – Active lifestyle and social engagement for a successful ageing, part of the Spoke 4, WP 2 -Design effective interventions to improve physiological outcomes and diseases-related conditions in middle aged and older adults- of the Research Programme Age-It (Ageing Well in an Ageing Society) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
She is author of more than 70 research products, among articles, book chapters and monographies (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9601-4639).
She is committed in outreach activities as a member of the editorial board of the e-journal Neodemos.
