Biosketch: Ombretta Guardiola is a Researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Biophysics A. Buzzati Traverso, CNR, in Naples. She received a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Naples Federico II in 2009. During her doctoral and post-doctoral studies, she gained significant international experience particularly at the VIB Vesalius Research Center at the University of Leuven in Belgium, where she honed expertise in muscle stem cell biology. Throughout her career, she has developed a deep understanding of muscle stem cells, focusing on their role in regenerating damaged muscle tissues. She has contributed to several national and international research projects, collaborating with leading experts and disseminating research findings through scientific publications and presentations at international conferences. Her ongoing research explores the non-genetic heterogeneity underlying muscle stem cell fate decisions and investigates the plasticity of inflammatory cells in muscle regeneration, further advancing the field of muscle biology. She is currently an affiliated Fellow of the Age-It project.
