Biosketch: Sharon Russo is a junior post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Genetics and Biophysics (IGB - CNR) in Naples. Currently, Sharon's research is focused on defining the role of ZNF687 and PFN1 in mesenchymal bone marrow-derived stem cells and hematopoietic cells, to evaluate how mutations in these genes can alter the interaction between these cells, compromising the creation and manteinance of bone marrow niche homeostasis. For this purpose, Sharon gained experience in working with mouse models of a severe age-related bone metabolic disorder, the Paget's Disease of Bone, which she uses to perform bone-marrow cells characterization through flow cytometry, histological analyses and in vitro cell differentiation and characterization.
