Biosketch: Sofia Pavanello is Professor of Occupational Medicine at the Hospital-University of Padua, where she teaches 200 hours annually on subjects including Aging and Work, Occupational Epidemiology, Occupational Medicine, Sciences of Prevention and Health Promotion, Propedeutical and Environmental Sciences, and Effectiveness in Prevention Interventions.She is the Vice Director of the PhD Program in Pharmacological Science and the founder of the BioAgingLab at the University of Padua, accessible at BioAgingLab. Professor Pavanello serves as the scientific referent for the University of Padua within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging.In 2024, she received a PNRR2 grant and ASI funding to create a research group focused on developing nutraceutical supplements and long-shelf-life meals with regenerative effects on biological aging. Her accolades include the Newsworthy Study Award from the American Association for Cancer Research (2010) and the Innovative Science Award from LRI-Eurotox (2004).Her recent projects include the ORCHESTRA project (2022) and the PARC initiative (2022), addressing SARS-CoV-2 responses and chemical risk assessment, respectively. She is a member of the National Advisory Board of Medicina del Lavoro and on the editorial board for the Special Issue on Aging and Work for the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
