Biosketch: Tatiana Moro is an Associate professor and Dean of the Bachelor Degree in Human Movement Science at the University of Padua.
Dr. Moro has a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. In 2015 she obtained her PhD in Neurosciences at the University of Padova, Italy where she studied the effect of high intensity training technique on muscle growth. She moved to UTMB Galveston, for her post-doc from 2015 to 2020, where she focused her research on aged population and how physical exercise can prevent sarcopenia and physical disability.
Now she is back in Padova; her research is primarily centered on establishing the effects of exercise and nutrition on skeletal muscle metabolism and plasticity, with a particular focus on aging and metabolic disease. Current work in her lab is focused on two main topics: delineating the regulatory role of nutrition and exercise on cellular and metabolic processes of aged skeletal muscle and studying the effect of Intermitted fasting diets on health and performance. She is currently working in the WP2 “Design Effective Interventions to Improve Physiological Outcomes and Disease-Related Conditions in Middle-Aged and Older Adults”, spoke 4 of the the Research Programme Age-It (Ageing Well in an Ageing Society) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. In that program he is also responsible of Task 2.""Tailored nutrition and physical exercise interventions in older adults"".
Roles: Spoke 4 WP2 Task 2.2
