Biosketch: Valentina Baccolini's educational career began with a degree in Medicine from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, during which she won an Erasmus call for applications that allowed her to spend six months in Tarragona, Spain, during her fourth year of study. Immediately after graduating in Medicine and Surgery with honors and obtaining her medical license to practice, in 2015 Valentina Baccolini moved to Rome, Italy, where she began her training in quantitative methods within the residency school in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at Sapienza University of Rome. During her second year, Valentina Baccolini spent six months at VUMC University of Amsterdam, where she used qualitative research to study the ethical and legal implications of cascade screening for familial hypercholesterolemia. At the end of her specialization (graduating with honors), to consolidate her skills in epidemiology and biostatistics, Valentina Baccolini spent nine months at Harvard University, Boston (USA), where in May 2020 she received her Master's degree in Public Health - Quantitative Methods track. Since returning to Italy, Valentina Baccolini has been working at the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases, Sapienza University of Rome, first as a research fellow, then as an assistant professor, and currently as a senior tenure track assistant professor. Since November 2022, Valentina Baccolini has also started a PhD program at the Department of Translational and Precision Medicine with a project focused on Health Technology Assessment methodology and personalized medicine.
