Biosketch: Celeste Lauriola is a biologist with a Master's degree in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine. She is a PhD student in Tissue and Organ Transplant and Cellular Therapies involved in the Research Programme Age-It (Ageing Well in an Ageing Society) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Her research regards the pathophysiology of obesity and its metabolic and andrological consequences. In particular, she focuses on the molecular mechanisms responsible of testicular dysfunction under dysmetabolic conditions (obesity, diabetes) and the effects of new anti-hyperglycaemic agents (i.e., incretin mimetics) on the restoration of male eugonadism by using both in vivo and in vitro approaches. She is member of Italian Scientific Society of Endocrinology-SIE and Italian Scientific Society of Diabetes-SID. In February 2024, she presented as oral comunication the experimental results regarding the effects of hyperglycaemia and hyperinsulinaemia on the regulation of sex-hormone binding globulin production in hepatoma cell line on the occasion of Spring Meeting of SID.
