Biosketch: Daniele Vignoli is Professor of Demography at the University of Florence, where he teaches Family Life Courses, Quantitative Methods for Population Studies, and Longitudinal Data Analysis. He is President of the Italian Association for Population Studies; Scientific Director of the PhD Program in Life Course Research; Scientific Coordinator of the University of Florence Population and Society Unit; and co-director of the initiative Florence Population Studies (FloPS), a collaboration between the European University Institute and the University of Florence. In 2017, he acquired an ERC Consolidator Grant on Economic Uncertainty and Fertility in Europe. Currently, he is Scientific Coordinator of the Research Programme Age-It (Ageing Well in an Ageing Society) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (~115 mil Euros). He is Editor-in-Chief of GENUS – Journal of Population Sciences. His research addresses: Family demography, Social demography, and the Life course. In 2020, he received the Dirk J. van de Kaa Award for Social Demography from the European Association for Population Studies. In 2023, he received the European Demographer Award from Population Europe and the network of Europe’s foremost demographic research institutes.
