The WP3 aims at developing and evaluating a risk-based strategy to promote healthy ageing in order to design new policies for increasing independent living, health status, and well-being of older adults that could take into account the different risks of unhealthy ageing.
Risk-based personalized intervention will be identified (T 3.1) and digital solutions will be developed using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms (T 3.2). Then, a real-evidence study will be conducted in the EPIC-Turin cohort, where a bio-social risk of unhealthy ageing will be computed and subjects will be recalled to receive the personalized prevention programs previously developed (T 3.3). A similar approach will be applied to patients with a type 2 diabetes, to target interventions on unhealthy populations (T 3.4). A specific focus on muscle function to prevent the risk of early sarcopenia will be implemented (T 3.5). Then, specific policies for personalized prevention will be designed (T 3.6).
